Ronald E. Carpenter, 41, of Fairmont, passed away Monday (Nov. 4, 2013) at his home.
He was born Oct. 29, 1972, to the late Melanie Carpenter and Ronald E. Johnson.
Ron was a graduate of Fairmont Senior High School where he participated in football and wrestling. He also attended Marshall University. Ronald was a cook and chef by trade, having worked at several restaurants, as well as being on the culinary staff for professional sports organizations while living in Charlotte, N.C.
He was a very loving and kindhearted person and was an avid sports fan. The Washington Redskins were among his favorites, along with West Virginia teams.
Ronald is survived by his sister, Veronica E. Cirella of Long Island, N.Y.; an aunt, Esther G. Moore; an uncle, Allen Carpenter and his family; a great-uncle, Van Johnson and his wife Sherry; and a cousin, Samantha Hinton and her children. Ronald had a host of extended family and friends, including his stepmother, Annie E. Little and her daughter Stefanie Little; and a special friend, Tracey Kennedy.
“Little Ronnie,” as he was affectionately known by his family, will be missed by everyone who knew him and encountered his kindness and gracious smile.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Johnson; his paternal grandfather, James Carpenter; and his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Cosby. Ron loved and cared for both of them dearly. He was also preceded in death by an aunt, Joyce Johnson; and a niece, Julie Cirella.
He was loved and will never be forgotten.
