John Earl Eddy

John Earl Eddy, 46, of Fairview, died Friday (Jan. 24, 2014) in Washington, Pa.

John was born March 16, 1967, in Fairmont, the son of Bernard Thomas and Reta June Gump Eddy of Daybook Road, Fairview.

John had been employed with Blue Mountain Engineering Inc. in Burton since June 12, 1996, and was a certified black hat, and was an avid hunter and gardener.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Ronald Eddy and his wife Shelly of Fairview; a sister, Tammy Shriver and her husband Delbert of Fairmont; and three nephews, Thomas Shriver, and Dylan and Cody Eddy.

John is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Gertrude Gump; his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Elizabeth Eddy; and a nephew, Nathaniel Earl Shriver.

Friends and family may call at Domico Funeral Home Curry Chapel at 100 Grant Street, Fairview, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Evangelist Nick Deiger and Evangelist Dick Bartrug officiating. Burial will follow at the Benifield Cemetery in Pumpkin Center.

  • Nuke-arms grade stock has been cut by Iran

    Iran has converted three quarters of a nuclear stockpile that it could have turned quickly into weapons-grade uranium into less volatile forms and is well on the way toward transforming the rest, the U.N. atomic agency reported Thursday.
    The development — agreed to by Iran under a nuclear deal it struck late last year with six world powers — leaves Tehran with substantially less of the 20-percent enriched uranium that it would need for a nuclear warhead.
