Joseph “Buck” Morris, 77, of Jamison Road, Fairview, died Sunday (April 27, 2014) at his residence.
He was born April 24, 1937, in Marion County, a son of the late Joseph and Retha Carter Morris.
Buck retired from Eimco in Pleasant Valley (formerly FMC) as a machinist. He was a hardworking man who loved working his farm and gardening. He was a devoted family man who loved his children and grandchildren, and enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s ballgames and functions. He attended Oakhurst Church of Christ and was Christian by faith.
Survivors include his children: Larry William Morris and wife Rose of Fairmont, Barbara Wise of Farmington, Melinda Morris of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Rebecca Tomana and husband John of Fairview; two brothers, Virgil Morris of Fairview and Russell Morris of Farmington; three sisters, Manoka Morris of Merrittstown, Pa.; Dolores Michael of Rivesville and Ruby Tangea of Akron, Ohio; seven grandchildren, John Eric Ross, James Goodnight, Brooke Bigi, Andrea Wright, Joseph Morris, Christian Tomana and Anna Marie Tomana; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica Ross; and three sisters, Hallie Corbin, Bonnie Dennison and Ermal Williams.
Friends may call at Hutson Funeral Home in Farmington from 2-8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. with Evangelist Craig Matheny officiating. Interment will be in the IOOF Cemetery at Farmington.
