Woodrow Lee Sr., 72, of Farmington, died Monday (March 25, 2013) at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, surrounded by his family.
He was born March 24, 1941, in Clay County, a son of the late Ralph Isiah Lee and Hazel Starcher Lee.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Jo Mugnano Lee of Farmington.
He is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Woodrow “Woody” Lee Jr. and Jenni Lee of Farmington, and Danny Lee and Tammy Lee of Fairmont; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Lisa Lee Moore and Wade Moore of Fairmont, and Teresa Lee Stacy and Russell Stacy Jr. of Fairmont; two sisters, Helen Johnson of Minford, Ohio, and Naomi and Butch Zinn of Arizona; 10 grandchildren, Jermie Fleming, Rachel Huffman, Jessicah Fleming, Kristian Lee, Rachael Stacy, Jacob Lee, Kendra Miller, Miranda Lee, Mattio Moore and Noah Stacy; seven great-grandchildren, Cannon Radcliff, Adaleigh Hardesty, Gabriel Lee, Callie Wilson, Slade Fleming, Brianna Fleming and Caleb Fleming; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Starcher.
Mr. Lee was a former industrial arts teacher for the Monongalia and Harrison County boards of education, a former coal miner and fire boss for the Eastern Associated Coal Co., and owned and operated Lee Contracting-Rentals for 47 years.
He was an active member of the Grace Fellowship Church in Wana, and graduated from East Fairmont High School, Fairmont State College with a bachelor’s degree and from West Virginia University with a master’s degree in industrial arts education.
Mr. Lee was an active volunteer at the Soup Opera, Union Mission and Ronald McDonald House. He enjoyed going to auctions, farming, fishing and being with his family.

The family will receive friends at the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday and 10-11 a.m. Saturday. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Steve Edwards. The committal service will follow in the Lee Family Cemetery in Farmington.
