— Anthony “Tony” J. Pandora Jr., 86, of Clarksburg, passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday (March 19, 2014) surrounded by his loving family following an extended illness.

He was born in Clarksburg on Dec. 24, 1927, a son of the late Anthony Pandora and Philomena Imperale Pandora.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Frances C. Palagino, who he married on April 19, 1952, and resides at their home in Clarksburg. Also surviving are two daughters, Barbara Hill of Good Hope and Regina Straight of Fairmont; four grandchildren, April Knight, Crystal Blake, Chris Straight and Andrea Straight; five great-grandchildren, Corey Rhoades, Courtney Knight, Darin Knight, Addison Knight and Ciera Blake; two sisters, Lenora Carbaccio of North View and Elizabeth Westfall of Anmoore; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Carmela Gulley, Mary Barnett, Lena Rudy, Stella Zannino and Flora Leroy.

Tony proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a meat cutter and manager for Garden Fresh Markets and Foodland. He loved gardening and sharing the fruits of his garden with all his neighbors. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church.

Family and friends may call at Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison St., Nutter Fort, from 1-8 p.m. Sunday. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church, 2107 Pride Ave., Clarksburg, at 10 a.m. Monday with Father Alfred Obiudu presiding. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery with full military rites accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard.
