John Michael McKinney, 52, of Fairmont, passed away on Thursday (Aug. 15, 2013).
He was born Aug. 27, 1960, in Fairmont, son of John Luther McKinney and Delilah May Sine McKinney Wilson.
He is survived by a daughter, Angela Rae Thurman and husband John of Washington; a stepson, Shawn Bingamon of Mannington; a granddaughter, Lyla Mae Thurman of Washington; a brother, Tim Wilson of Richmond, Va.; three half-brothers, Joseph McKinney and wife Robyn, Tommy McKinney, and Robert McKinney and wife Angie; one half-sister, Melissa Cutrone and husband Rudy; and several aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.
John was a United States Navy Veteran. He enjoyed fishing and had a special fishing buddy, Trent Wilson.
Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. There will be no funeral home services. Interment will be at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton on Monday with full military rites accorded by the United States Navy and the Marion County Veterans Council at noon. Anyone wishing to follow with the family to the cemetery is to gather in the funeral home parking lot at 10:45 a.m.
