Terry Lee Pettis, 62, of Fairmont, passed away Saturday afternoon (Oct. 12, 2013) in his residence.
He was born Feb. 16, 1951, in Fairmont, son of the late John W. and Virginia Maxine Swain Pettis.
Mr. Pettis was a Protestant by faith. He was a graduate of Fairmont Senior High School, Class of 1969. He attended Fairmont State College, earning four separate degrees in physics, accounting, management and economics, having graduated cum laude.
He later became a credit manager with Bruceton Farm Service (BFS) from 1999 to 2012. He earlier was assistant vice president/collections for Huntington Bank and CB&T from 1976 till 1993.
Terry very much enjoyed building computer systems and was an avid hunter.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Pettis of Fairmont; a son and special daughter in-law, Kendall and Myra Pettis of Fairmont; two daughters, Kimberly Pettis-King of Pittsburgh and Kasie Snyder of Virginia Beach, Va.; six grandchildren, Kendra and Kyle Pettis of Fairmont, Allie and Katie Snyder of Virginia Beach, Va., and Willy and Emily King of Pittsburgh.
Friends may call at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, from 2 to 8 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Wednesday, with Pastor Harley Mayfield officiating. Burial will follow in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Morgantown.
