Connie Kuhn

Connie Darlene Kuhn, 67, died Sunday (Oct. 13, 2013) at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

She was born Sept. 5, 1946, at Farmington, a daughter of the late John Audrey and Lillian Maxine Rinehart Kuhn.

Connie was Methodist by faith, being a member of the East Run Methodist Church until it closed in 1988. She became a member of the Downs Methodist Church, where she loved singing in the choir and was very involved with “movie night.” At her death, she had served as the church’s superintendent for more than 20 years.

She was a member of the North Marion Senior Red Hatters of Mannington for nine years.

She retired from the Marion County Board of Education as a custodian for North Marion High School, having been a custodian at various schools in Marion County throughout her working years. She was a member of the Marion County Association of Retired School Employees and the West Virginia Association of Retired School Employees. She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary No. 629 in Fairmont.

Connie was an avid reader and enjoyed watching “NCIS,” the West Virginia University Mountaineers and Pittsburgh Steelers football. She enjoyed doing crosswords and Sudoku puzzles and loved to sing at church. Two of her favorite things in this world were Colasessano’s pizza and anything that came in red velvet. She enjoyed spending time with friends at the North Marion Senior Center in Mannington, where she had participated in the “Belles and Gents” singing group, and also spending time with her family.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Donna Kuhn, and a nephew, Michael J. Kuhn, both of Farmington; a niece, Heather R. Haller and husband Johnny Haller, of Meadowbrook; and two great-nieces, Mikaela Rose Fluharty and Delaney Grace Haller, both of Meadowbrook, and whom she dearly loved. She also is survived by numerous cousins, family and friends who loved her.

In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Kenneth Kuhn, and a sister, Peggy Lou Kuhn, both of Farmington; two uncles, Ray Kuhn of Eldora and Victor Kenneth Rinehart of Fairmont. Her beloved cat, Trouble Ann, also preceded her in death.

Friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with Pastor David Jones officiating. Interment will be in Viewpoint Cemetery in Rachel.
