— Martha Brown Hall, of Barrackville, departed this life Saturday (Aug. 17, 2013) at her residence, to join her son and husband in paradise.

She was a daughter of the late Dorsey Lee and Zeporah Coplin Brown, of the Harmony Grove Community, Taylor County.

Martha was a graduate of Grafton High School, Fairmont State College and West Virginia University. She taught physical education at Mannington High School for 34 years. She was a member of the Barrackville Church of Christ and taught Sunday School for many years. Her church and school students were very important to her. They remained her friends for a lifetime.

Martha is survived by her sister-in-law, Lois Ann Hall; nephews, Thomas Hall and his wife Donna, Richard Hall and his wife Vickie, of Barrackville, and Paige Brown and his wife Gloria, of Kentucky. She also has great nephews and their families, Michael Hall and his wife Courtney, James Hall and his wife Jamie, Steven Hall, Rachel Hall, Jason Brown and his wife Amy, and Rachel Brown.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis W. Hall; and her only beloved son, Lewis W. Hall II. She was also preceded by one brother, James Lee and his wife Jobie Brown of Florida; one beloved sister, Marie Christy and her husband Ralph of Fairmont; her brother-in-law, Carl Hall; and her mother-in-law, Vada Hall of Barrackville.

The family would like to also thank Jackie Fitch and the home health care nurses and employees at Fairmont General Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion shown to Martha during her illness.

Friends and family may call at the Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday. The funeral will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Friday with Evangelist Steve Snider officiating. Interment will follow at the Barrackville Cemetery.
