Etta Mae Roberts

Etta Mae Webb Roberts, 81, widow of Lawrence Raymond Roberts, of Mannington, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday (Aug. 27, 2013) at Manor Care in McMurray, Pa.  

She was born July 31, 1932, in Saltville, Va., a daughter of the late John Webb and Ruby Graham Webb.

Etta Mae is survived by four sons, Larry (Lucy) Roberts of Tampa, Fla., Danny (Debbie) Roberts of Fairmont, Robbie Roberts of Mannington, and Timmy (Deanna) Roberts of Mannington; and two daughters, Terry (Dominic) LaCaria of McMurray, Pa., and Shirley Roberts of Mannington.  

She is also survived by nine grandsons, Kenny and Robert Cossell, Garrett Beimis, Jeff and Steven Roberts, Alan, Jeremy and Dominic LaCaria, and Jonathon Roberts; and four granddaughters, Rachelle Smith, Alexandrea Williams, Tammy Martin and Nicole Roberts; 11 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Braxton (Betty) Webb, Dave Webb, Johnny (Etha) Webb and Jimmy (Joni) Webb; and a brother-in-law, Jim Wade.

In addition to her parents, Etta Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Raymond Roberts, who died Aug. 31, 1999; one sister, Mavis Wade; and two brothers, Robert and August Webb.

Etta Mae devoted her whole life to her family. She was a loving wife, daughter, mother and sister. She spent her life as a Christian and will be sadly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and brothers.

Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, from 5-8 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Lynn White officiating. Burial will follow at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.

  • Nuke-arms grade stock has been cut by Iran

    Iran has converted three quarters of a nuclear stockpile that it could have turned quickly into weapons-grade uranium into less volatile forms and is well on the way toward transforming the rest, the U.N. atomic agency reported Thursday.
    The development — agreed to by Iran under a nuclear deal it struck late last year with six world powers — leaves Tehran with substantially less of the 20-percent enriched uranium that it would need for a nuclear warhead.
