Robert Douglas “Bobby” Lamp, 84, of Martinsburg, passed away Sunday (Jan. 27, 2013).

He was born Aug. 22, 1928, the son of the late Howard and Mamie Lamp.

He was an avid sports enthusiast and fan of the Redskins, the Yankees, the Mountaineers and the Bulldogs. Golf was his favorite hobby, and he loved to reminisce about his “hole in one” at Sleepy Hollow Country Club and his club championship at Cress Creek with his best friend, Dick Subora.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Terry Pizatella Lamp, and their two children: Kelly Lamp Wasilefski and her husband Scott, and his new granddaughter Quinn Margaret of Arlington, Va., and Michael Joseph Lamp and his partner George Schlosser of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and his beloved dog, Caesar.

Also surviving are his sons, James and his children Jessica and John, O.J. and his children Jaryn and Kellyn, Eric and Angel, his partner, Kerry and his wife Sandy and their children Patrick and Spencer, and Chris and his wife Shelly and their son Aaron; and his daughter-in-law, Sharon, and granddaughter, Jennifer.

He is also survived by his nephews, Doug and wife Sharon Lamp of Charles Town and their families, and Tim Lamp of Baltimore. He leaves behind many friends from the Elks, the Fan Club and relatives in Fairmont, including brother-in-law, Tim and his wife Sheila Pizatella, nieces, nephews and many cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robbie; brother, James; three sisters, Helen, Francis and Doris; and his in-laws, Margaret and Ben Pizatella.

The family will receive friends at their home from 7-9 p.m. today. Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25403, or the Martinsburg Fan Club, c/o Craig Mason, treasurer.

The family would like to thank Dr. Jesse Jalazo and Hospice, especially Matt Bender.
