Velma E. Stocking, 100, formerly of Kennywood Drive, Fairmont, passed away Friday (Nov. 8, 2013) in Hammondsport, N.Y.
She was born on Aug. 19, 1913, in Volga, W.Va., a daughter of James B. and Rosie B. Teets Marteney.
Her husband, Harold Stocking, preceded her in death.
Velma was a member of the Life United Methodist Church, Saint Paul Campus in Fairmont.
Survivors include four children, daughter Norma Yost and husband Anthony, and sons Roy Stocking and wife Cindy, Ronald Stocking and wife Jacky, and Richard Stocking and wife Margie; grandchildren, Rob Yost and wife Marilesa, Matthew Stocking and wife Cyrene, Anna Devault and husband Robert, Ryan Stocking and wife Heather, Jonathan Stocking and Nicole Stocking, Mitch Stocking and wife Megan, and Jared Stocking; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Arlene Edgell and her husband Okey; and one brother-in-law, Russell Hugus.
Preceding her in death were four brothers, Haskell, Verl, Alfred and Kenny Marteney; and three sisters, Eileen Marteney, Reva Kisner and Elaine Hugus.
Services were held in Hammondsport on Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. at the Hammondsport United Methodist Church.
