Lucille L. Cork, 83, of Shinnston (Boothsville Community), departed this life Monday (Feb. 25, 2013) at United Hospital Center.
She was born in Fairmont on Sept. 15, 1929, a daughter of the late Thomas L. Lemasters and Mary Murdock Lemasters. Her second husband, Warner Paul Cork, whom she married Sept. 19, 1968, preceded her in death July 30, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Edgar Price Boblett.
Lucille was a loving mother and grandmother and is survived by one daughter, Nancy Kay Helmick and husband Arthur of Clarksburg; one son, Thomas E. Boblett and wife Debbie of Boothsville Community; three stepsons, Howard Cork of Pinegrove, Larry Cork of Texas, and Alan Cork and wife Beth of Texas; and one stepdaughter, Cathy Hayhurst and husband Robert of Florida. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 11 step-great-grandchildren and seven step-great-great-grandchildren. She was soon to be blessed with the 11th great-grandchild. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, including Diana, Ron and Charlie.
Also preceding her in death were one sister and brother-in-law, Irma and Charles Byers; and one stepdaughter-in-law, Carolyn Cork.
She was a graduate of East Fairmont High School and West Virginia Business College and was formerly employed with the Hazel Atlas/Continental Can glass factory, Hope Gas and Montgomery Wards Catalog Store.
She was a former member of Duff Street United Methodist Church for 45 years until moving to Boothsville, where she attended Boothsville United Methodist Church.
Family and friends may call at Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison St., Nutter Fort, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday. The funeral service will be held at Amos Carvelli Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Saturday with Reverend Dr. Michael Richards presiding. Interment will follow in Shinnston Masonic Cemetery.
