Player of the Week, Jan. 20: Emily Stoller

Times West Virginian

FAIRMONT — The Fairmont Senior Polar Bears have won 11 games straight this season in large part to a young cast.

One of those cast members is junior Emily Stoller.

Stoller, a 6-foot-1 guard, averaged 19.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 8.0 assists in the two games played between Monday and Friday to grab player of the week honors, as voted by the readers.

In Fairmont Senior’s 64-19 victory over Robert C. Byrd, Stoller recorded 12 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, barely missing a triple-double for the game.

Days later, Stoller just missed a triple-double again, scoring 26 points, grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out eight assists in a 68-48 victory over Philip Barbour.

Both of Stoller’s stellar performances came on the road and improved the Polar Bears’ Big 10 conference record to 7-0 before entering Saturday’s game.

For her strong play this past week, Stoller was voted this week’s Times West Virginian high school player of the week.
