Despite a cold and rainy day on the track, North Marion’s Taylor Trowbridge still took care of business.
During the team’s first track meet of the season last Saturday, Trowbridge showed that her focus is at an all-time high as she placed in the top four in her three events.
Trowbridge, a freshman, took third in the 1600 and fourth in the 800 for her individual events. She posted a time of 6:02.30 in the 1600, beating the next closest runner by 0:09.20, and 2:42.40 in the 800.
She also took home a third place win in the 4X400 relay with the help of some of her teammates.
Overall, the Lady Huskies finished fourth out of 15 teams at the ConnectBridgeport.com Invitational at Wayne Jamison Field Complex in Bridgeport.
For her strong performance, Trowbridge was voted this week’s I-79 Joe Romeo’s Times West Virginian high school player of the week and will receive a coupon for a free appetizer from Applebee’s of Fairmont.
