Already a West Virginia state champion in the high school ranks, Garrett Onderko now wants to see what else he can do in wrestling.
The East Fairmont standout will get the chance after signing his letter of intent to wrestle collegiately at Alderson-Broaddus starting next season.
“I’ve always wanted to play a sport in college and didn’t really know which one I wanted to do,” Onderko, also an all-league running back/linebacker on the Bees’ football team, said shortly after a signing ceremony Thursday at EFHS. “I like both equally, but after all the hype and everything after winning a state title, it made me lean toward wrestling."
