BRIDGEPORT — North Marion’s softball team dropped its second straight game on Thursday, falling 6-4 on the road at Bridgeport.

The Huskies finished with three hits on the day. Danielle Fluharty, Shasta Pyles and Morgan Clyde each singled.

“We had a nine-inning game (on Wednesday against University), so I thought we might be a little flat,” North coach Brad Harker said. “I didn’t think all four tires would be.”

Chelsi Latocha started for North (6-2), scattering nine hits with two walks and a strikeout. Danielle Fluharty took the loss in relief, as several miscues in the field hurt the Huskies’ chances late.

North opens play in its Diamond Dawg double-elimination tournament at 10 a.m. today versus Big 10 foe Lincoln.

West Virginia University football coach Dana Holgorsen was happy with his team’s first practice of the 2014 season.
Of course, he would note, “Everybody in the country has a good first day.”
