University’s Savannah Bryner is a name that haunts North Marion’s softball team.
You see, on Saturday afternoon, during the Diamond Dawg Tournament that was held at North, Bryner sliced and diced the Huskies hitters.
Her performance was truly a thing of beauty. It was like Justin Verlander heating up late in the sixth inning while mowing down hitter after hitter after hitter.
“My changeup and screwball were my two off-speed pitches that I used as set-up pitches,” Bryner said. “I like to pitch backward. Today, I started North hitters off with the screwball sometimes. I wanted to play a mental game. I wanted to set the hitters up so they wouldn’t know what was coming.”
