Huskies fall at UHS

FAIRMONT — After a big win a day earlier over Lincoln, North Marion’s softball team failed to keep the momentum going on Tuesday in a 8-0 road loss at University.

The Huskies, now 19-11 on the season, were held to just three hits on the afternoon.

“We had a letdown. You can say we were flat,” North coach Brad Harker said. “Sooner or later, you’re going to want to flip the switch and it ain’t going to come back on.”

North got hits — all singles — from Paige Efaw, Shelby King and Chelsi Latocha.

The Huskies had several scoring chances early in the contest, including putting runners on second and third base with no outs in the top of the first inning, but weren’t able to get a run across.

Latocha also started in the circle and tossed a complete game, but the Huskies were tagged for 13 hits.

North is back in action today when it visits Lewis County.
