Petrucci, Strand lead Post 17 past Post 2

PLEASANT VALLEY — As lightning filled the air on Tuesday evening, Fairmont Post 17 was providing the thunder against Morgantown Post 2.

Here, eight out of the nine batters from Post 17’s team tallied at least one hit. Because of the ability to provide runs in bunches, Fairmont was able to accumulate 14 hits, which in return, led to a commanding 8-4 victory.

“We hit the ball really well,” Fairmont’s head coach Marty Morgan said. “Everyone fed upon each other today. If the first guy can get on, it makes the inning easier. It gives you an easier shot to win.”

The hit parade began in the second inning. Morgantown jumped on Post 17 fast, with quick 1-0 lead. With Post 2 having momentum in its favor, that same exact intensity provoked Post 17 to score some runs.
