Fairmont Senior rallies to defeat Elkins, 62-52

FAIRMONT — The tale of two halves.

If you were on hand during the first half of the Fairmont Senior-Elkins boys’ basketball game on Tuesday and left early, you missed a gem of a game.

In the second half, FSHS managed to up its game. The Polar Bears created an 18-3 run that produced their sixth win of the season, 62-52.

“We weren’t in a flow,” Fairmont Senior’s head coach Dave Retton stated. “You see two different teams — we’re a team that doesn't get any movement or we get great movement and we share. It’s not that our guys aren’t wanting to do it, but they’re kids. We didn’t play well in the first, and in the second, we played some ball.”

Sparking the Polar Bears’ offense was Mr. Everything himself, Travon Horton.
