East Fairmont falls to RCB on road

The East Fairmont varsity girls’ basketball team dropped a close one on the road, 46-42, to Robert C. Byrd.

East Fairmont coach James Beckman said that his team had a shot but couldn’t overcome a late deficit.

“We had it. We just couldn’t put four quarters together,” he said. “We just couldn’t put together some shots at the end.”

Brooklynn Weaver led the Lady Bees with 14 points. Felicity VanGilder added eight points and Bailey Frederick chipped in seven.

Torin Todd led the Lady Eagles with 16 points.

East Fairmont falls to 5-5 overall and 4-4 in the Big 10 Conference with the loss. They’ll now look ahead to Bridgeport when they travel to take on the Indians at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday.
