Haller providing solid numbers for Huskies

FAIRMONT — Megan Haller may only be a sophomore, but she plays like a seasoned veteran.

Haller is just one part of a tough North Marion girls’ basketball team but she’s been standing out as of late.

North Marion played two games this week, picking up a win over rival East Fairmont and falling just short of AAA opponent Wheeling Park Saturday.

Between those two games, Haller averaged 15.0 points per game.

In the 71-33 win over the Bees, the 5-foot-6 sophomore guard scored 16 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the floor. She was also 5-for-7 from the charity stripe.

During that game, Haller took some hard shots into the wall but kept getting back up and putting up points for her team.

Haller again closed out the week with a solid game in a losing effort against Wheeling Park on the road.

The ladies of North Marion lost, 68-65, in a close battle, but Haller still scored around her season average, putting up 14 points.

In the loss to Wheeling Park, Haller was a perfect 4-for-4 from the foul line.

For the week, the sophomore standout posted 30 point and has earned this week’s Times West Virginian high school player of the week.
