Fairmont Senior breezed past Liberty on Wednesday, 15-5.

Right from the get-go, Fairmont Senior had the pedal to the medal. The Polar Bears strung along seven hits that resulted in six runs.
This set them up for success the rest of the game.
“I was hoping that the kids wouldn’t have a letdown after the first,” Naternicola said. “We didn’t score in the second, but then scored in the rest of our innings.”
Leading the way for FSHS was Jayce Riley, who went 3-4 with three runs scored and two doubles.
Matt Robbins had two hits, three runs and one RBI; Fletcher DeVaul, two hits, two runs, a double and a RBI; Austin Norman, two hits, two runs scored, a double and one RBI; and Ryder Skarzinski tallied two hits, two runs, a double and one RBI.
Gage Hannah had one hit, two runs and a RBI. Michael Parker had two hits, one run and four RBIs.
Earning the win on the mound was Bailey Mohr, who went all seven innings.
He had 10 strikeouts, two walks and only one earned run.
“With us playing eight games last week, our batters should be doing pretty good,” Naternicola said. “We only had two strikeouts tonight and one of them didn’t come until the sixth inning.”
The Polar Bears will be back in action today when they host Elkins in a doubleheader.
On Monday, FSHS begins sectional play against the winner of North vs. East.
