PLEASANT VALLEY —
Marion County schools are rolling in the first ever ‘East Fairmont Duals.’
North Marion and East Fairmont are the only two unbeatens at 5-0, while Fairmont Senior lurks in the distance at 4-1.
“It’s our house and we’re expected to win it,” said East Fairmont’s Jesse Roman, who individually went 5-0 on the day. “All week, we’ve been telling everyone that this is ours — we’re taking it — no questions asked. We have a tough one again (today) against West. That will be a good gauge on us.”
Today, the Bees will be taking on the Huskies and the Polar Bears. Whoever wins between the Marion County schools, it’s most likely that it will be for all of the marbles.
The only thing that might get in the way for North is Calhoun County. If NMHS manages to roll against the Red Devils, then they will be competing for the championship in their bracket.
“You control your own destiny,” North Marion’s head coach Dave Tennant said.
