When it comes to scoring goals, the East Fairmont boys’ soccer team isn’t hoping for one — the Bees expect it.
“That’s kind of the way we always approach it,” East coach Fred Roman said of his squad. “It’s going to happen at some point.”
The same could apply to the program as a whole. No matter the opponent, the deficit, the circumstances right now, East expects to win.
That confidence has been building for some time and has the Bees buzzing near the top of the state rankings. They only kept things rolling on Tuesday night at East-West Stadium with a 3-0 shutout of visiting Buckhannon-Upshur.
In the first game of the girls-boys doubleheader Thursday, East Fairmont’s girls’ team dropped a 6-0 decision to the Bucs. B-U led 1-0 at the half.
