Last year’s injury has changed Norman’s life

FAIRMONT — Blue 52, blue 52, set hut.

Fairmont Senior’s Austin Norman drops back to pass. He looks right, and then looks left, and no one is open. The North Marion defenders were clinched to Norman’s first target in Neil Scherich. Option two? Shaquille Washington, and he’s not open.

While Norman scans the field, he suddenly feels Alec Moscufo breathing down his neck.

“My first instinct was to tuck it and run,” Norman said. “There was no one open, so I decided to run.”

Norman took the ball past the 40 and then the 50-yard line. He’s leaving the Huskies’ defense in the dust until he saw Austin Stanley waiting to stop him as he was turning the corner.

That’s when Norman decided to jump to get just one extra yard for the Polar Bears, and then he heard a pop.
