RACHEL — In baseball action, Herbert Hoover swept North Marion in a double header on Saturday afternoon, 11-1 and 6-0.

During the first game, North tallied three hits — Skyler Brooks had a double, and Ryan Jolliffe and Devin Ayersman each added singles.

In the second game, North dug themselves into a four-run hole right from the get-go.

Although the Huskies were down, the sophomore Brooks came in and shut the door against Herbert Hoover. In the four innings that he pitched, Brooks fanned two while allowing just three hits and two walks.

“Skyler Brooks pitched a good game in the second game,” North Marion’s head coach Vic Seccuro said. “We played very good defensively today. We only had one error in the second game and two in the first.”

Leading the way for the Huskies on the offensive side of the ball was Travis Smith, who tallied two hits. Also contributing hits were Cody Opron and Quinton Hill, who each added a hit.

North will be back in action on Tuesday when it hosts Preston beginning at 7 p.m.
