“Give me a jersey. I don’t care what number I am,” Kate Doshier said about her freshman season when being given a number.
You see, Doshier had been No. 13 her whole life until she stepped into the halls of North Marion High School.
Here, she decided to join the soccer team; however No. 13 was occupied, so she was given her now glorious No. 15.
“I was always No. 13 — 13 was taken my freshman year, so I said, ‘Coach, give me whatever number you want,’” Doshier said. “I knew that a number doesn’t really matter; all that matters is how you play. 13 opened up after my freshman season, but 15 is my number now. I claimed it, so now I’m going to keep it.”
