Fairmont Senior notched a 15-5 win against county rival North Marion on Thursday.
Despite the Huskies’ efforts in the first inning, going up 3-1, the Polars Bears answered in the second thanks to a single by Fletcher DeVaul that knocked in two runs and then a three-run home run from Austin Norman.
“We sprayed hits around,” Fairmont Senior head coach Steve Naternicola said.
DeVaul, Fairmont Senior’s pitcher, kept the Huskies at bay, only allowing two more runs the rest of the game. The Polar Bears ended the game in the sixth by scoring eight runs.
Six players for Fairmont Senior accounted for 12 RBIs on the night. Norman hit in four, DeVaul, Ryder Skarzinski and Gage Hannah added two RBIs each, and Matt Robins and Johnny Kesling hit in one each.
Fletcher pitched eight strikeouts and allowed eight hits, four earned runs and no walks.
For the Huskies, Cody Opron had a triple and Skyler Brooks added a double.
The Polar Bears will play their final regular season games today during a home doubleheader at 5 p.m. with Elkins.
“The first game is going to be a conference game against Elkins,” Naternicola said.
