East leads Huskies in suspended game, 7-2: PHOTOS

RACHEL — Rain, rain, go away. Come again another day.

Round two of the Class AA sectional bout of North Marion versus East Fairmont will continue today at 5 p.m.

You see, East Fairmont was in control while leading 7-2 with the bases loaded in the bottom of the fifth inning — and then it came. The rain began penetrating the earth, which in return, created mud puddles on the baseball diamond.

Now, both North’s head coach Vic Seccuro, and East’s skipper Rob Barrett have to scratch their original plans of playing one game today and try to outsmart each other.

“It’s always a good feeling to know that you’re ahead, but you don’t know what’s going to happen,” Barrett said.
