FAIRMONT — For the second day in a row, Fairmont Senior’s Gage Hannah took the top spot, helping the Polar Bears to victory.

Fairmont Senior’s golf team took two wins over North Marion and Preston Tuesday at Fairmont Field Club. Hannah was the medalist of the nine-hole match after shooting a 39, four over par.

To start the match, Hannah took par on the first hole and then shot two double-bogeys.

“After all that I tried to stay up and not get down,” he said. “I told myself, ‘Keep playing, see what you can do.’”

The senior continued to play on and played well.

Hannah took par on the rest of the course earning him the top spot just a day after medaling at the Pines Country Club in Morgantown.

“I was getting up and down really good,” he said. “I was chipping in close to the hole and making my short putts for par. After taking two doubles, that’s all I really wanted.”

Hannah’s teammate and fellow senior Bailey Mohr earned second Tuesday after shooting a 42. North Marion’s Colton Holbert took third, shooting a 45.
