Trefz leads FSHS in win at Times Invitational

FAIRMONT — Nick Trefz had a week to remember for the Fairmont Senior cross country team.

Trefz notched Fairmont Senior’s first-place team finish by winning the boys’ race at Apple Valley Golf Course on Saturday.

Trefz is currently the top-ranked runner in Class AA-A. In his race Saturday, he ran faster than everybody, compiling a time of 16:43.

Because of his efforts, Trefz is this week’s Times West Virginian Multi-Media Good Sports Player of the Week.

The Polar Bears will be back in action Thursday when they take part in the Big 10 championships at Philip Barbour High School.
