When East Fairmont’s girls’ basketball team opens up the local slate of games with Friday’s visit to Elkins, the Bees begin one of more intriguing seasons in last few.
Well, all told, five of Marion County’s six teams had winning records last year. And with the drop down to Class AA, each looks to build off that success and see if they can do even more in 2012-13.
But with any new season comes questions, and here are a few I’m pondering with tip-off fast approaching:
• Can the FSHS boys take the next step?
With the move down a class, it certainly seems possible, if not probable.
There won’t be a Triple-A giant like a Morgantown, Wheeling Park or even Preston waiting for you in the regional final.
In some respects, that’s a pretty big deal.
