Fairmont all-stars open state play today

— Fairmont’s 11-12 Little League all-stars will begin state tournament play today at 6 p.m. in Clarksburg.
Fairmont, which won the District 5 championship, will represent the District along with runner-up Bridgeport.
There are 14 teams total in the tournament, which is divided up into four pools.
The top two teams from each pool move on to a single-elimination championship round. Pool play is double elimination.
Fairmont will be in a pool with Barboursville, Moorefield and Chapmansville.
First up for Fairmont is Chapmansville. The game is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Clarksburg Field.
