RACHEL — No. 9 North Marion’s girls’ basketball defeated East Fairmont on Wednesday in a county rematch, 70-58.
The game went differently than the one on Dec. 19 where the Huskies won 71-37.
North Marion came out strong with a 3-pointer from freshman Megan Haller, but East Fairmont wouldn’t give up, staying within five going into halftime, trailing the Huskies, 30-25.
Brooklynn Weaver’s 11 points in the first half helped the Bees keep it close.
“She did a nice job for us,” East coach Bill Malone said.
Weaver had a double-double on the night with 25 points and 12 rebounds.
