East fights cold, rival to get win: PHOTOS

FAIRMONT — Maybe more than anything, East Fairmont’s softball team battled on Wednesday.

The Bees battled the cold and windy conditions. Battled through an up-and-down day at the plate. And battled their crosstown rivals, besting Fairmont Senior for a 13-3, five-inning home victory.

“Any time you win a county game, it’s good,” East Fairmont coach Josh Postlewait said after East kept its recent run of success going against the kids from the West side.

The win also bumped the Bees’ season mark to 7-3 at the midpoint of a busy week that includes 10 games in six days.
