North Marion girls’ softball swept Preston in a doubleheader on Tuesday evening, 11-2 and 8-4.
Leading the Huskies on the mound was the dynamic duo — Danielle Fluharty, pitcher, and North’s catcher, Cheyanne Steen.
Steen, just a freshman, would command Fluharty’s pitches, while framing them to near perfection.
This resulted in Fluharty pitching with swag.
When the game was in the books, Fluharty tallied seven strikeouts, zero walks and one hit.
“Danielle has been throwing great,” North’s head coach Brad Harker said. “She’s really hitting her spots. When she’s been pitching the way she has been, we’re in the game right from the get-go. She has a lot of confidence right now. She wants the ball in her hand and right now, she’s hitting her spots and doing extremely well.”
