RCB’s hot start sinks Huskies, 56-7: PHOTOS

RACHEL — Speed kills, and it was the death knell for North Marion’s football team on Friday at Husky Field.

No. 7 Robert C. Byrd bolted past the Huskies during a furious start, scoring six touchdowns on its first seven possessions of the night, en route to a 56-7 blowout victory.

“They’re a daggone good football team,” North Marion coach Daran Hays said.

That much can’t be denied, as the Eagles improved to 7-1 overall, 6-1 in the Big 10, and won their fourth straight.

However, for all the team has done and all the points it has put up this season, Friday’s first half might have been RCB at its high-octane best.

The Eagles needed just 20 offensive plays to score seven touchdowns, and the longest the squad went between scores was a 4:58 span midway through the second quarter.
