Fairmont Senior was de-cleated Friday night as Bridgeport pounded the Polar Bears at East-West Stadium, 34-7.
Due to the loss, the Polar Bears’ two-game winning streak came to an abrupt end.
FSHS was held to just 214 yards of total offense, while having trouble moving the ball most of the game.
“The team that we think and know that we have showed up tonight,” said Bridgeport head coach Josh Nicewarner. “I think our defense was phenomenal tonight. Keeping everything inside was our objective. Our ends and our linebackers did what they needed to do, which was to shut down the run.”
Right from the get-go, the Polar Bears were fighting an uphill battle.
