Big 10 has strong showing in playoffs

There was no change in the Big 10 receiving order.

East Fairmont’s Scotty Shroyer is the conference leader with 61 catches, followed by Lincoln’s Dillon O’Dell (52), Philip Barbour’s Al Johnson (50), Lincoln’s Anthony Gemondo (35) and Grafton’s Tyler Moore (29).

Scherich moves up to tie East Fairmont’s Ronnie Mills for sixth with 26 catches each.

O’Dell has the most receiving yards with 1,233.

Bonamico is far and away the conference scoring leader with 28 touchdowns for 168 points this season.

Nuse is second with 114 points and Lincoln’s Seibel is third with 108.

Scherich vaulted up to fourth and now has 15 touchdowns and 92 points, and the Indians’ A.C. Caldera rounds out the Top 5 with 90 points.

Bridgeport’s Brennan Duarte added to his kicking lead and now has 64 points for the season.

Fairmont Senior’s Dakota Mouser moved up into the Top 25 scorers and has 38 points.

    After beating Bridgeport, 11-8, Fairmont secured a spot in next week’s state tournament. But with one challenge down, Fairmont moved on to the next: Playing itself into an area championship game.
