Fairmont Legion Post 17 defeated Bridgeport 7-1 on Wednesday evening in Bridgeport.
Earning the win on the mound for Post 17 was Bailey Mohr, who went six innings, while allowing just one run and striking out six.
“He pitched really good for us (Wednesday)” Fairmont’s head coach Marty Morgan said. “He was ahead of most of his batters and he threw well.”
In relief was James Bolander, who threw two innings and Matt Robbins threw the ninth.
On the offensive side, Fairmont was led by Fletcher DeVaul with three hits; Austin Bland, Johnny Kesling and Robbins, each had two hits; Chris Petrucci, Cutter Atha, Brandon Plivelich and Travis Smith each had one.
Post 17 will be back in action Friday night in Beckley. The next home game for Fairmont will be on Sunday at 1 p.m. against Beckley at East Fairmont High School.
