Gilpin set to turn Huskies around

FAIRMONT — In Husky territory, North Marion is hoping to make some noise in the 2013 regular season.

Although the goals have remained the same for years, North Marion will try to make a run in the playoffs under the direction of its new head coach in Matt Gilpin.

With the experience built into his everyday regimen, Gilpin’s already started to mold the North Marion athletes into top-tier soccer players.

“We’ve been working a lot on defense,” Gilpin said. “They are picking it up pretty well. We’ve been practicing defense a lot. Another part that I’m a firm believer on is conditioning. Having the few numbers that we have, we have to be in better shape; that will allow them to play for longer periods of time.”
