Fairmont Senior’s varsity girls’ basketball team jumped out to an early lead and coasted to a 68-48 victory over Philip Barbour on the road Thursday night.
Emily Stoller led the way with a near triple-double of 26 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. Kaden Whaley chipped in 11 points and six rebounds while Jasmine Johnson added eight points and seven rebounds and Erica Bowles scored nine points.
“Everybody played so it was a good outing,” Fairmont Senior coach Corey Hines said. “The girls played hard. Defensively we didn’t have as many turnovers as I’d have liked but everything worked out. It gave us an opportunity to play a lot of girls because we were up early.”
The Lady Polar Bears move to 10-1 on the season and a perfect 7-0 in Big 10 play. They’ll play Elkins on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Woody Williams Armory in a makeup game from earlier in the season.
