County teams go two-for-three

Polar Bears, Huskies win; Bees lose

East Fairmont dropped a 64-43 game at Lincoln Tuesday night.

Felicity VanGilder led the Bees with 13 points. Alexis Wamsley had eight. Macey Nuzum scored six and Brooklynn Weaver added five.

Emily Knight led the Cougars with 19 points.

The Bees battled and kept pace with the senior-heavy Cougars. Mid way through the second quarter the score was tied at 15. But in the second part of the quarter they began to pull away.

“They are a very senior-oriented team,” East Fairmont coach James Beckman said. “Any time you have five or six seniors, that’s going to be a great team.

I told my girls, I want you to learn something from this team. Hopefully they took something away from it.”

The Bees also dropped a 50-44 decision to Grafton on Monday night.

VanGilder again led the Bees, this time with a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds. Weaver added nine points and Bailey Frederick had six.

The losses drop East Fairmont to 8-10 on the year. They will return to action Thursday to host North Marion.
