Competition heats up at EFHS Duals: PHOTOS

FAIRMONT — Day one of the East Fairmont Duals is in the books.

After wrestling five matches each at East Fairmont High School, the Bees and North Marion Huskies remain perfect.

East Fairmont claimed victories over Lincoln (57-19), Preston (63-15), Bridgeport (67-12), Clay (53-24) and Fairmont Senior (44-3), while North Marion picked up wins over Liberty (72-3), Clay Battelle (66-9), Robert C. Byrd (67-9), Hedgesville (54-28) and Lewis County (51-27).

Leading the way for East Fairmont were Daynon Foster, Brody Nesslerotte, Hayden Stewart, Matt Hopwood and Cam Stewart. All five went 5-0 and were followed closely behind by Dalton Michael at 4-1.

For North Marion, Ryan Elliott, Caleb Kuhn, Kyle Elliott and Gavin Barker went 5-0. Joe Efaw, David Harris, Justin Efaw, Noah Redmond, Tyler Arnett and Roger Cummings wrestled their way to 4-1 records.

Fairmont Senior, meanwhile, finished the day 3-2, beating Phillip Barbour, Berkeley Springs and a reserves team and falling to East Fairmont and Calhoun County.

Anthony Alvaro, Braden Mick, Brent Barber and Vincent Delligatti closed the day at 5-0. Brent Wyne, Bradley Wyne and Spencer Long went 4-1.

The duals continue at 9 a.m. today when North Marion squares off with Fairmont Senior. Each team will again wrestle five matches, including at 5:45 p.m. when North Marion matches up with East Fairmont.
