East Fairmont falls to Bridgeport, 64-39

Bridgeport used a strong second-half to pull past the Bees at East Fairmont High School Friday night, 64-39.

The Indians took a 13-10 lead after the first quarter and extended it to 28-20 at the half. Then in the third quarter they outscored the Bees, 22-10 to pull away.

“In the third quarter they got out in transition and we did a poor job of transition defense,” East Fairmont basketball coach Tyrone Asterino said. “From there it was trouble.”

Nick Greely led the Bees with 19 points in defeat. Jake Delaney (seven), Myles Johnson (four), Ronnie Mills (four), Brennon Vincent (two) and Colton Toothman (two) also scored.

John Wilfong paced Bridgeport with 30 points.

East Fairmont (6-11) doesn’t have long to think about the loss. The team will be back in action today when they host Weir at 6 p.m.
