COLUMN: Blowout burns more than just North Marion

FAIRMONT — It wasn’t hard to pick out the most difficult position on the field Friday night at East-West Stadium.

You could see the agony on their faces as their arms quivered, fighting through Fairmont Senior’s dominant 62-14 win over in-county rival North Marion.

Now, I could be talking about the Huskies’ quarterback Chase Banker, the man with the difficult task of filling in for starter Drew Harker, who is sidelined with mononucleosis. Or maybe Fairmont Senior linebacker and tight end Luke Hrapchak, who was constantly making an impression on both sides of the ball.

But no. The hardest position on the field? The cheerleaders.
