PLEASANT VALLEY —
Fairmont Legion Post 17 was hootin’ and hollerin' following its come-from-behind win over Wheeling Legion Post 3 on Wednesday, 6-5.
“This win should get us some momentum,” Fairmont Post 17’s head coach Marty Morgan said. “It was a close game, and it feels good to win these close games.”
During the grueling game, Fairmont was down 4-0 through the first four innings before they decided to pick it up.
That’s when Johnny Ray Kesling picked up where he left off from the Fairmont Senior Polar Bear squad. Giving Fairmont some momentum, Kesling blooped a single over the head of Wheeling’s first baseman, which landed for a hit.
