Huntington High 66, Washington 57
Arick Nicks had 20 points and eight rebounds to lead Huntington High to a 66-57 win over Washington in Class AAA semifinals Friday.
Huntington High closed the first half on a 9-0 run sparked by an Anthony Meadows layup and Tavian Dunn-Martin scored the final five points of the half to put Huntington High on top for good.
Dunn-Martin and Meadows each finished with 17 points for fifth-seeded Huntington High (22-4).
Josh Dudley finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds and Jerome Jones had 12 points and 15 rebounds for top-seeded Washington (25-1).
No. 7 Hurricane stunned No. 3 Hedgesville, 69-66, in triple overtime to advance to Saturday’s 7:15 p.m. championship game in Class AAA. The Cinderella team beat No. 2 Charleston Wednesday to set up the matchup.
